11 Lions Found Dead In Queen Elizabeth National Park




On Friday 13 April 2018, UWA guides found a pack of 11 lions including 8 cubs dead at the Hamukungu fishing village in Queen Elizabeth national park, one of Uganda's most popular national parks. Investigations by UWA specialists suggest that the lions might have been poisoned by the locals who have one it before in May 2010 when five lions were poisoned. The locals at the fishing village do this hideous deed as a way of trying to defend themselves and scare away the lions but it is not legal and it is punishable by the law, any one caught involved in the action shuold face a prison sentence. 

This news has shocked the Uganda tourism industry as well as conservations across the world. We will keep you informed of the latest findings as investigations go on in the Queen Elizabeth national park.
